About You
The Commercial Finance Analyst acts as the primary business partner of the Commercial and Marketing Teams. The jobholder is responsible for ensuring that they work towards agreed plans and objectives and provide guidance in matters pertaining to financial soundness of plans and compliance.
Function
The Finance team is central to the delivery of key business objectives and targets across the P&L, Balance Sheet and broader external market share. The members of the team are respected business partners to their stakeholders inside and outside of the function, and work as part of a cross-functional team to help shape the future of Diageo Korea.
About the Role
- Identify business opportunities, risks and initiatives and provide financial analysis and insights to support decision making.
- Prepare a value chain for channel (on/off), category and brand in consideration of trade investment and Advertising & Promotion investment.
- Review of pricing/innovation strategy effectiveness.
- Simulate ROI by simulating with projected volume and promotion activities (Pre Measurement & Evaluation) and review the results after the promotion (Post Measurement & Evaluation).
- Monthly review of actual performance vs AOP and latest forecast of Market share, Sales and OM, etc.
- Review of Intercompany selling price alongside tax team and FC.
- Work alongside a commercial finance manager and being the driving force behind ensuring focus on the key risks that require further investigation.
- Decision Support: Designing and providing reports that are valuable to decision makers in the company.
- Imparting finance know-how and thinking to the Commercial and Marketing Teams to ensure that they are aligned to the company’s financial goals.
- Bringing finance “closer to the people” by communicating financials in a manner that is relevant and understandable to the different functions.
- Key business partner to commercial organization, strong working relationship required with all key stakeholders- Supply, Marketing, Innovation and other parts of Finance.
- Drive for best practices and develop a culture for innovation and continuous improvement in service of continued efficiency and effectiveness.
Experience required/Skills/Capabilities/Languages
- Finance Business partnership at least 3 years of experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in finance function
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
- Previous commercial experience extremely desirable / Demonstrates holistic mindset
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Superior analytical, resourceful, can-do attitude
- Fluent in English
